You’ll need some sort of SCART splitter (powered) to split between the TV and capture input, and then a scaler to capture it. $200 is going to be very tight and you’ll have to settle for a sub-par scaler now and upgrade later probably

I guess I should clarify: if you edit on a 1080p timeline, things are being scaled to 1080p and then up to 4k So you will theoretically (though arguably not noticeably) lose some sharpness/clarity if editing native 4K footage But if your goal is to upscale, sequence res vs render res doesn’t really matter for anything but basic desktop screencaps If 4k timeline performance is a problem, you can change the playback resolution below the player, render proxies to edit from, or edit in a 1080p sequence, then change that to a 4k sequence before rendering (being sure to check any text/graphics to ensure they didn’t shift/change during that swap)

Yeah I mean, set your canvas to a vertical resolution, edit down within the frame and within the time limits of each platform
