Transferring a non steam game
So i have this non steam game on my pc and I was wondering can I transfer it from sd card to me in steam like a regular steam game or would it just the one file that it runs from and not the hlwhole folder for it

a game is virtually never a singular file
you need the whole folder
but assuming it doesn't have complex anticheat or other modules, you could potentially run it from just copying the folder to another PC
activation/DRM may throw a fit depending on how that's set up
Ye worth a shot some reason last tine I tried moving it i tried to download them again even though it was there maybe it was cause it was a launcher for an mmo
I did find a option for file checker on it but it felt like it was downloading than checking for files it was so slow
If it's downloaded with a different game store (Epic, EA Play, Ubisoft, etc.) then just use that same app store on your other machine
It came from a website stand alone i could do the file check once I get a faster drive tomorow maybe it was just slow checking files from the ad card
Can you be more specific on how you got this game, and where you are trying to move it to (like why move it to an SD card)
I got it from sega.jp site and I'm trying to move it from sd to nvme through steam storage page
You need to just move it yourself
It’s not a Steam game
Steam isn’t really equipped to handle it
Remove the shortcut from Steam
Move the files
Add it back to Steam
I'll give it a shot tomorow evening when I meet new drive
