Reigning Champ
Thanks, I wasn't aware. Has there been an appreciable drop in quality, in your experience?

Bronson MFG
I picked up some t-shirts from Bronson, and they're great quality for the price, but I'm definitely glad I paid attention to their sizing and went with with XXXL.

Reigning Champ
Reigning Champ has their Freshman and Sophomore pants in Solotex Cotton and their Stadium pants in Solotex Linen both listed as new. Has anyone here purchased them in these materials? I'd like to know more about them, and their site doesn't have any reviews. (I had posted this in QnA, because Reigning Champ didn't have a brands channel, but then realized they should probably have one, so I went ahead and made it).

Help picking out a suit within my budget
I'd say take it to a tailor and ask them. I'm guessing they'll be able to take it in rather than getting a smaller size, but you never know what the actual measurements are.

Help picking out a suit within my budget
Yeah, they're a bit more than the Staffords, but like I said their construction will be better, so you'll get some life out of it. Good luck at the new gig!

Help picking out a suit within my budget
If your budget is $200 and under and you need a suit or 2 pronto, JC Penney has Stafford Signature Smart Tech Wool suits that are 98% wool and 2% elastane, which is a higher wool content than the two you've listed. It will not last as long as a J Crew or Spier and Mackay, so will cost more in the long run. Lands End has a similar blend for a bit more. You'll have a little better luck with their construction. Your budget it what it is (you might want to check out the Frugal Mens Fashion Discord), and you definitely want to fit in with your new job's vibe. But is your office really all suits? That's pretty rare these days. Chinos and button downs definitely won't work? If you're in law or finance or on Capitol Hill and you're just waiting for your first paycheck before going to Brooks Brothers, sure get a short term suit. Otherwise, I wouldn't just run out and get a suit if you're just trying to make a good first impression.

Plain weaves vs others?
I've been reading Derek's stuff, and it's been enlightening. His piece on Drakes' Games Flannel, where he quoted Bruce Boyer is exactly what I'm after: "“The gray flannel suit is the epitome of this approach for me precisely because it has a deshabille, a slightly rumpled nonchalance denied to crisp worsteds, It’s got an easy elegance that can’t be beaten in a tailored garment.” "Rumpled nonchalance", "easy elegance" - that's what I want to put together for myself.

Plain weaves vs others?
Are there any sites like that for more modern styles/outlooks, so I could better understand the difference?

Plain weaves vs others?
Honestly I'll probably end up with a traditional sort of style, so that's not entirely a bad thing

Plain weaves vs others?
That piece, flannel being the result of an addition process on top of the choice of worsted or woolen fibers was what a I was missing.

That link was a huge help, particularly this "What generally defines a flannel is the milling process, where the cloth is beaten about and the fibres broken, producing that fuzzy effect"

Right, that's what I was getting at, and yes, trying to avoid suit separates.

I'm considering giving their chinos and maybe their sports jackets a try. Guess I'll have to check out their sweaters too.
