AVX512 is not all the same tho, some processor implement it fully while other implement just a subset or few extensions

The OS doesn't dictate what instructions the apps use, the processor either has them or don't, and apps use accordingly (with either a compile time or runtime check)

for the general question, yes that's a thing, a couple other games also use this variable to check if it's running on a Steam Deck and disable all graphics options

So ive got 2 drives, want to install Bazzite and Windows 11 for a dual boot dual drive OS setup....
the latest one will be the default probably, but it's up to your motherboard, and the boot order can be configured there

Be sure to use Proton Experimental with the [bleeding-edge] beta branch.
You'll find some workarounds, some people say to not use gamescope, to disable uav compression in VKD3D for upscaling to work, and some other things that might all be placebo but doesn't hurt to try

Setting Windows as the default option to auto boot in Grub
you're way better off just changing boot order in the motherboard, let grub just boot fedora and that doesn't mess with secure boot as a bonus
