Are there standard test print STL's beyond the ratrig commissioning first layer test print?
I haven't done any of that. I assume baby stepping means raise and lower the nozzle while printing. I'll try that and read about the flow rate too.

Thanks for those recommendations but I'm realizing now I still have more basic issues before I print those. I did a PA tower and set the PA to .05 in PrusaSlicer. But I'm noticing my first layer test print doesn't look all that good. I'm sure this has been seen a lot of times, but I don't know what's going on. Is this a PA issue the way the surface varies from the outer part to the inner part? I did the same print right at the front of the test bed and got the same result. I have done all the beacon calibration, z tilt, etc. I'll post more info if needed.

RatOS 2.1 vc3.1 and connected to internet
Your home router has an Internet WAN IP address (like 41.3.208.5) and an internal LAN address (like 192.168.1.1). Your ratrig has an address on the same LAN (like 192.168.1.8). In the router’s port forwarding table, enter the ratrig’s LAN address (192.168.1.8) and also enter a port number of your choosing. You can google appropriate port numbers, but you can use something like 50000 or 60000. To access your printer from the outside via the internet, in your remote browser URL bar you would enter: 41.3.208.5:50000 (notice the colon between the IP addr and the port number) When your home router receives your request on its WAN address and it additionally sees the :50000, it routes the incoming traffic to the LAN address associated with port 50000 in its port forwarding table. I’m not saying port 50000 is the best choice, and I’m not saying you should have your printer hanging on the internet. That’s between you and the networking/security gurus. And if your WAN IP address gets changed by your ISP, you won’t be able to access the printer from the outside until you discover your router's new WAN IP. That’s where a DDNS service comes in.

If you have port forwarding set up on your router, you can indeed access the printer from the internet.

Mine's a VC4, but from what I read you can use the latest RatOS on your VC3, which supports the Beacon. Here's the link to the latest RatOS 2.1 RC2

Would an SSD (vs the SD card) speed up full updates on RPi 4B?
@miklschmidt How can I tell if the Beacon cal values are still good? Nevermind. I just put my crushing fears aside that I'd grind the nozzle into the print bed, and did a print.

You're right, the config part should be easy. Thanks.

@miklschmidt I got the new card and I'm imaging it. Once done, can I manually transfer key files from my existing SD card to the new one to prevent having to do the configuration and calibration over again? If so, can you tell me the files I need to transfer?

It's downright embarrassing actually, but you notice I won't refuse it. I do select delayed deliver on other stuff I'm not in a hurry for.

Or spend about double and get an SSD.

I'll happily get another one if it's worth a shot. I'm starting to think about a SSD drive again.

Getting occasional "mcu shutdown - timer too close" shutdowns.
I'll re-image the card from scratch.
