What causes "toolhead stopped below model range" and what can be done?

@Helge Keck I'm running RatOS 2.1 RC3, and have run the initial beacon cal, beacon_ratos_calibration, and beacon_create_scan_compensation_mesh bed_temp=85 profile=Contact. I've been getting the Toolhead stopped below model range and the Error during homing contact: Contact triggered while accelerating errors. The nozzle height looks normal when I get these messages.

are you sure to be runing RC3? did you update everything (starting ALWAYS by RatOS)?

Sorry for the delay. Yes, RC3. I update often and rerun BEACON_RATOS_CALIBRATE and BEACON_CREATE_SCAN_COMPENSATION_MESH BED_TEMP=85 PROFILE=Contact after every update. Then I check for a good Z offset and sometimes make an adjustment to that. I'm not sure with "starting always by ratos", but I run the printer through RatOS and do updates through that too.

I mean when making updates, always update RatOS before all the others. did the new calibration solve the issue?

Is this for real? Doing a specific RatOS update before the others? I've always done UPDATE ALL COMPONENTS. At any rate, after the last update I got a few real good first layer test prints. I even cycled power yesterday and it seemed to print good again after that. As a side issue, some "numbers" have gotten out of whack somewhere because of something I've done, and I drove the print bed into the nozzle (while at rest). That never happened before. To be honest, I'm afraid to power it up and try again today, but I will. It's all become superstition to me.

Yes it's for real, it's in the documentation https://os.ratrig.com/docs/installation#updating
Always update the RatOS package first, before updating anything else.
