J Crew
I like the broken-in oxfords a lot and have three right now: white, blue, pink, and blue stripe. I bought the white and blue ones NWT from jcrew.com for $38 (58% off) in Dec 2023. And looks like I got the blue stripe very lightly used from eBay for $22.
They aren’t as long as other oxfords I’ve had (like from Brooks Brothers), so I like that the J.Crew ones work well both tucked and untucked.
I got the classic fit in size large, and the dimensions I measured on this shirt are below. I haven’t measured my “secret wash” cotton poplin shirts, but those seem to run a tiny bit tighter than the broken-in oxfords, maybe like a half inch slimmer in the chest.
My general price goal for J.Crew is at least 40% off MSRP. So I think the pricing at $60 is a bit high right now. <$50 seems like a better target price.
For similar price ($58), you can get OCBDs from Spier & Mackay. I believe people like those a lot, particularly the collars, though I only have poplin dress shirts from Spier. I believe the Spier “Classic” fit is similar to J.Crew “Classic”, while I believe Spier “Contemporary” is closest to J.Crew “Slim”. Spier slim and extra slim are even…slimmer.
One good thing about Spier is they have some Oxford options where you can choose both neck size and sleeve length. So can potentially dial-in the fit if you look at size charts carefully.

Barbour
Just wanted to second all the recommendations for Cox the Saddler when buying Barbour from the US. I paid $220 USD delivered for a Hereford from them, vs. $395 USD from the Barbour US site. And Sara was super helpful in helping me determine what size to get. I had tried on a Bedale at Nordstrom so knew my size in that model, and was able to figure exactly which Hereford size would fit similarly. https://www.saddler.co.uk

Polo Ralph Lauren
Agreed on RL shoes being not very impressive. Would suggest looking for what they have that’s made in England, Italy, or USA, then consult this thread to see who is the likely maker: https://www.styleforum.net/threads/ralph-lauren-lines-and-who-makes-what-a-definitive-guide.94886/

DOUBLE RL
Lots of good UK options! For ribbed shawl collar cardigans, check out the lambswool or cashmere ones from William Lockie. Looks like they are carried by a bunch of UK retailers.
For RRL, I think the hand knit ones are really cool. Derek Guy loves them for example. Great textures! https://x.com/dieworkwear/status/1679634132853489666?s=46
