Eddie Bauer
Starting an Eddie Bauer thread!
I actually used to work at an Eddie Bauer Outlet back in the early 2000s. Had no appreciation of the brand’s history at the time that’s for sure. Mostly focused on hiding the regular retail Gore Tex jackets back in the stockroom so I could then buy later for an extra 50% off the already marked down price. My whole family was outfitted in some sweet jackets that’s for sure!
Anyway, I’ve had a lot of fun this week researching vintage Eddie Bauer outerwear. The Skyliner quilted down jacket, the Yukon jacket with the fur collar, and the Kara Koram parka are all time greats. Seem to have inspired so many other brands and items over time.
The vintage early stuff seems to be pretty well picked over on ebay (and thus properly priced for resell to the collector market), but I’ve set up some searches in hopes of snagging a reasonably priced vintage piece eventually.

I did grab one piece from eBay during my recent deep dive, this Skyliner collab with Pendleton. Not sure from when it’s from, but seemed more interesting than the many modern repro Skyliner jackets available.

I also bought the K-6 boots the last time they were 50% off. Great value for that style. I wore them a ton this winter.

Would love to find a true vintage Kara Koram parka, but the pricing is pretty serious given how collectible they are. I like this Big Rock Candy Mountaineering version though, I’ve got my eye on one for eventual purchase.

Eddie Bauer is plentiful at thrifts in my area and i always love their older stuff. currently have a birds eye style sweater from them that i thrifted
Oh one more Eddie Bauer thing I grabbed from eBay this week. A western-style down vest with the leather yoke. Not actually vintage since has fairly modern labels and was made in China, but the shell is 100% cotton and appears like it might be waxed. So I thought that was pretty cool.
