IME dissertation defenses tend to vary in how casual/formal you are expected to dress depending on the department. Here’s what I’d suggest if it leans more casual in your area: white or light blue oxford cloth button down shirt, tan or beige chinos. If more formal: white or blue dress shirt (though an OCBD would likely be fine most places), grey wool dress trousers, maybe a tie if that feels normal in your department.

Summer fragrances for someone who mostly likes fall fragranced

I’m going through a sample set that includes Clandestine Laboratories Vert, as well as Côte. I really like both as summer fragrances and both have a lot of green qualities.

I love beams plus, some of my favorite FW garms are from them (including the corduroy paisley blazer below). The import markup is nuts, so I’ve only ever bought stuff from them on sale. I’ve also only ever bought things from them that I could try on in person.

Not an expert on this, but my fiancée started plucking the strays around my brows and it makes a big difference. My brows are still thick, they just look a lot tidier. Especially helpful was cleaning up the little hairs in between my brows, but also on top and below.

The j crew cardigan is made of sweatshirt material, not really typical knit fabric for cardigans. That may or may not matter to you.

Corridor used to have such a stranglehold on me when I first got into clothes (~3-4 years ago), but I’ve really soured on them now. Inconsistent sizing, bad QC, and most pieces they put out are just pretty boring. Their most interesting pieces are priced wildly high.
