why would you even mix bootstrap and tailwind? bootstrap is meant to be used with vanilla css/scss and tailwind is standalone. you need to make your own components in tailwind unlike in bootstrap which is already provided

Why does child element cause parent to overflow
that isn't the problem. 50px is too small to even cause overflow issue. also, this is an exception since it is an icon which you don't want to scale.
