We can only write v = rω when we take moment of inertia about the axis which is at rest at an instant, for pure rolling round bodies, we should only be able to write it if we take acis about it's point of contact with the rough surface where it's pure rolling...
In this question, why is the moment of inertia taken about the axis through the com and still v = rω is used?...
