adding beacon mesh points?
Running ratOS 202 with beacon revH
Is there an easy way to add a bit to my printer cfg that will allow me to increase the resolution of my beacon bed mesh? It’s not bad as is, but I think more resolution would help. It makes an S shape which looks to me like 3x3 points. I’d like to just up this to like 20x20 or so since it’s so quick. ✌️

beacon mcu flash needed?
I think I did things wrong. 😁
I updated all my components in the web ui update manager. One of the items was beacon (not installed yet). So all components are showing up to date in web ui (except system packages anyway)
Then I physically installed a beacon connected to Raspi. And changed my config from clicky to beacon. And I’m getting errors on startup:
Beacon mcu version installed 1.1.0
Says current version is 2.0.1 and I should run install.sh or update_firmware.py update all
So, I’m guessing I just need to ssh into machine and run one of these commands? Just want to double check before I bork my nice printer. I’m good at that. TIA ☺️✌️

neopixel lights macro automation
Hey there. Is there a way to add functionality to RatOS so that my lights_on and lights_off macros get triggered when a print starts/finishes? This would be the first and last thing to happen after clicking print file. So before homing,etc. I know I could probably add start and finish gcode in the slicer, but I was looking for a way to bake it into the os. TIA. ✌️

prime blob code
Is there an easy way to copy paste the prime blob with fan cooling etc out of ratOS? Was thinking of trying to swap out my prime lines on some other non-rat rigs✌️

Solved-Start Gcode
I noticed that the default Start_print routine does the following before every print (memory may be out of order):
1) home all axis.
2) z tilt adjust
3) mesh the bed
4)heat up the bed
5) then heat up the hot end
6) prime a blob of filament
7) print part
I’d like to adjust things so that:
1) printer just loads a pre-scanned mesh so it doesn’t need to mesh again
2) sets the bed and extruder at the same time at very beginning. Before home all. Just waits for temps to hit target before prime blob.
Is there an easy way to do this?✌️

🤦♂ Resolved: X and Y swapped movement
Slowly working on commissioning. All 3 Z motors behaving correctly. And the A and B motors do move in the +/- directions correctly, but when I click Y+ it moves the toolhead in a X+ direction. And visa versa with X and Y.
This is my first CoreXY so I am no doubt the problem here.
I have tried (separately testing each time):
- swapping the X and Y (a and b?) motor plugs at the drivers.
- in the printer config (!) reversing the direction pin for X and Y motors.
- in the board (Spider2.3) cfg swapping the X pins with the y pins definitions.
All these produce is reversing the direction of an axis movement, not the axis’ themselves. This seems like a 101 derp moment because I don’t quite understand core xy movement yet. What am I doing wrong? ✌️🤦♂️

Spider v2.3 flash
I’m trying to set up a new build with a spider v2.3 board on RatOS because I’ve only used Fluidd on past machines and want to give RatOS/Mainsail a try. I realize my build is a bit custom but I’m trying it anyway.
Q: will a 2.3 board flash with the firmware build in RatOS for a 1.1 board?
I’d prefer to flash over USB without an SDcard but after setting jumpers to 5.5v/USB and 3.3/Boot0 I’m able to get an ls serial by ID for the board and I can see it in lsusb, but the make flash FLASH_DEVICE:0483:df11 command fails in the dfu utility error 255
Any suggestions? ✌️
