If you mean if mod for version X will work for bigger version then it can, but it will not always work.
if you mean can you run your mods on lower version of Minecraft, then probably no, but most mods should have a version for e.g. 1.20.1 so you could most probably move there.
No matter that, mods that I recommended are NOT a necesity, you do not need to use them.

Distand Horizons chunks (view in the distance) generates very slowely, if you leave your PC active during the night you will be albe to see further out
To speed it up you can:
- decrease vanilla render distance to e.g. 12
- decrease vanilla simulation distance to e.g. 11
- increase Distant Horizons CPU load to Agressive
- install mods:
- Noisium
- Faster Random
- Lithium
