If you want the color to never change you'll have to create a dummy colormap that has only a single color that it can change from

as a bonus you can have those items change dynamically when you enter different biomes (and they won't be invisable with shaders on)

Everything that I’ve used in my pack works other than that, and it only breaks with shaders so yeah

I shall now semi-peacefully wait for this to be fixed. Hopefully I can just live with all of the tinted/colormapped blocks being invisible

Here's an example pack of the issue.
Try holding Birch Leaves, Spruce Leaves, and a Lily Pad. (they should all go invisible when holding them with shaders enabled)

hmm so I'm guessing this is intended behavior? it would be kinda funny is resource packs could somehow use the old shading but I highly highly doubt that's even realistically possible
