Would a houndstooth-patterned blazer be appropriate for job interviews?
I am thinking about getting a chstom tweed blazer or buying a used one. I am very interested in a black-and-white houdstooth pattern, especially as those colours highlight my features the best.
I am worried that it would be insufficiently versatile as it may not be appropriate for job interviews. If I pair it with navy or charcoal trousers and a tie, could it work?

Is it fine to wear calfskin in lieu of patent leather for black tie?
I am going to a black-tie event in about a month. I've got a pair of plain-toe Oxfords, but they aren't patent leather.
As much as I'd like to have patent leather pumps, ot seems like a lot of money for something I would seldom wear. Then again, the same is truebfor my tuxedo and dinner shirt, so why not have the shoes?

Which turtleneck should I go with?
I am thinking about either burgundy or Orion green. I prefer cooler colours that are more saturated. I worry the green may be too earthy.
This is the turtleneck:

Which duffel bag should I get?
I occasionally travel by air for work, and it would be very nice to have a smaller duffel that can fit beneath the seat and double as a daily briefcase. My EDC from Frank Clegg is too small for that.
I am between these three:
1. From Frank Clegg
This has the best handicraft of the three, but it may be the least practical as it cannot hold a laptop well and doesn't have a strap for suitcase handles. The leather of it is beautiful, and it is aesthetically my favourite.
2. Waterfield Designs
This comes with a pocket that I can attach to suitcase handles. It is made of canvas rather than leather. I'm not fond of the aesthetics of this as much, but it seems practical and is the cheapest of the three.
3. Carl Friedrik
https://www.carlfriedrik.com/products/palissy-25-hour-large-leather-briefcase?colour=black
The handicraft of this is probably the lowest of the three. I like the design, as it effectively looks like a larger briefcase. I still leans towards the traditional weekender design of Clegg, though.
Thoughts?

How does Northern Italian suit tailoring differ from Neopolitan tailoring?
I have often heard that Northern Italian tailoring is very different from Neapolitan tailoring, almost as much as it differs from traditional American tailoring. Beyond having a broader shoulder, I have yet to hear many details about Northern Italian tailoring.
So how would a traditional Milanese or Roman suit differ from a Neopolitan one?

Would it be fine to wear navy pants with a navy sportscoat of the textures differ?
I've read to avoid pairing navy trousers with a navy blazer as it can look like a mismatched suit. I have a pair of blue wide-wald corduroys and a bluish tweed sportscoat. Given that tweed is hardly ever solidly coloured and the texture is clearly different from the pants, could I pull this off?

Any tips on how I can be more Italian and less Ivy?
I have been wearing Ivy styles for a long time (e.g. J.Press, polo shirts, OCBDs) but am trying to transition to more Italian styles. Any recommendations or advice?

Could this work for black tie shoes?
I have been looking for a pair of ooera pumps, but have been unable to find one wide enough for me (US E/UK G).
Allen Edmonds has the James pair, but it's more of a loafer than a pump and the vamp isn't very low.
Could this work or should I keep trying to find a pair of pumps?

High-rise, heavy grey cotton pants?
Hi, I am looking for a pair of grey cotton pants in a high-rise (around 13') that would be appropriate for cold weather. Ideally they'd be moleskine or corduroy. Thank you.

Can a charcoal flannel sportcoat work?
I know charcoal flannel has been a traditional material for a business suit, but could it work as a casual sportcoat?
I hope it can be paired with olive cotton pants for business casual events or darker wool trousers and a necktie for job interviews.

What's a better colour for a tweed sportcoat?
I am considering having a bespoke tweed sportcoat made by a local tailor. I am buying the fabric myself, but am deciding between navy and charcoal.
I also plan to get a sport coat in flannel in whichever colour I don't choose for the tweed.

Where to buy blazers with low buttoning point?
I am looking for a navy or charcoal blazer with a low buttoning point, preferably something in flannel or cashmere. My budget is about $1k, but the lower the better.
As for fit, I prefer slimmer fit in the Italian style.

Does it make sense to use a weekender bag for air travel?
I have been thinking about getting a weekender duffle, but I worry that it would not be convenient for air travel as it usually would not have wheels. Most of them are too large to bring as a personal item anyway.

Does anybody have recommendations on cashmere turtleneck shirts in black or white?
I am specifically looking for a thinner and slimmer turtleneck that can be worn in lieu of a shirt as opposed to the chunkier ones. I would prefer something below US$400.

How to know if I can trust a custom tailor?
I got a custom blazer recently and had a bad experience. The tailor promised me it'd be handmade but it doesn't seem to be (although sleeve buttons are removable). It also doesn't fit me very well; too large in the chest but too narrow in the waist.
In the future, what are some ways to figure out if a tailor is trustworthy to avoid repeating this experience.

How does Italian smart casual style differ from that in the US?
In the US, standard smart casual wear includes OCBDs with pressed cotton trousers and loafers, sometimes with a sports coat. Is it similar in Italy, or do they have alternatives?
