Mod 'Distant Horizons' (distanthorizons) 2.1.3-a-dev requires version 1.21.0 of 'Minecraft'
I am having issues on Fabric and I have only the bug there, on Forge there are no issues with or without shaders

while on Forge it displays all LOD chunks correctly

It works even with shaders but the things is it will display some chunks glitched, specially on water areas

Did you installed Forge or Fabric? I can use DH with no problems on Forge but not on Fabric with client 1.20.1

Ok , I have created a fresh New World using the Client 1.20.4 + Fabric and DH 2.1.2-a and Iris 1.7.2 yet still have the same issue as described by the OP, Black chunks, particularly on the water. I didn't enabled any shaders to rule out that possibility and still get the same issue, what could it possibly be?

I am playing on the same client, 1.20.4 and to avoid the issue I should create a New World without using StarLight?
