V3.1 Catastrophic failure - massive layer shifts
I re-tightened them after the incident, but I'll loosen more. Thanks. I've been having successes since I tweaked the filament temperatures. I wouldn't have expected this to cause that to be honest! And the temp shift is another mystery on its own. I appreciate the help @blacksmithforlife , thanks a lot 😉

I changed my rapido to a mosquito, exact same readings 🙈.

But since there is not a pullup resistor, and since the problem appeared with RatOS 2, it might be a conf issue, yes. For the record, I already re-installed the whole OS, without any improvement.

V3.1 Catastrophic failure - massive layer shifts
I made a video and discovered several things: - my belt setup skips at the slight resistance from the print - a blob of PETG is very slowly building on the nozzle of the hotend (doesn't come from above) - filament templates for the machine are crazy too fast, the printer cannot extrude with these flows - the hotend was too hot, with a registered temperature 15 to 20 degrees less than it should (so the heater is heating more) In the end, I ended up: - cleaning the hotend regularly - creating a PETG template capped at 15mm3/s - adjusting the template to print at 200deg And I was able to have a decent print. I didn't know that this thermistor reading issue could cause this catastrophic failure, but it seems it was corelated. I think we can safely close this topic, and I'll focus on this issue now: https://discordapp.com/channels/582187371529764864/1344233387589894216

I've done it, but maybe I "badly" checked. The fact I was able to pull a decent benchy without issue troubled me. In this print, we can see extrusion problem, so that could explain it, but I had another print (PLA) with no overextrusion and a small shift (the bigger the part, the bigger the shift it seems). No curling in the proper layers. At first I thought that the drag cable was catching into something, or that the belt skipped. But I have no clue. I am willing to do any test you can suggest, at this point, I am sure of nothing :/

I don't know if that helps, but I didn't see this issue when I was with RatOS 1. But I also rebuilt the printhead, so I might have damaged the EBB.

No BEACON_INITIAL_CALIBRATION on vc-4.0 installation
That's the one I talked about yes! I think Extreme is a good advice to add, if you are printing all day long with it, it's important I think. With the 3.1 it took 6 months before the SD card died on my end. So I would add the extra tip, especially since most builders are more than willing to pay the extra cost

Thanks for the explanation @miklschmidt, I have bough good Sandisk ones (not extreme, but I'll know now). And I think that is what made the 3.1 broke. I think it could be interesting to specifically advise this Extreme one in the guide. I saw Sandisk, but it stayed generic.

I wasn't expecting that! They have been used without problem with octoprint and prusas.

I bought two new SD cards and now it works. The problem was that it wasn't possible to write on it. I suspect that I had bad SD cards from RPI kits.

I have no ideas how it is possible. Basically I take my sd card, put it in the computer and flashed it with belena. I did it twice and I can still see the saved config. I'll try with another SD card today... But then I don't understand what wrong asset I'm using. What do you mean by "update everything"? What I did was: - dl this image https://github.com/Rat-OS/RatOS/releases/tag/v2.1.0-RC1 (that link to be more specific https://github.com/Rat-OS/RatOS/releases/download/v2.1.0-RC1/2024-05-28-RatOS-2.1.0-RC1-armbian-CB1.img.xz) - do the configurator, flash all boards Thanks for the help!

Idle 4028 part cooling fan
The conf is directly copy pasted from the doc (I've had a hard time understanding how you can PWM only using the ground pin, but it's clearer now).

The fan is behaving as there is no pwm. Meaning it's either bad conf, bad electronic or incompatibility with the signal.
