As it pertains to the stitching, I found it to be perfectly serviceable. The leather however on their traditional models is a fairly low quality bonded leather that has a very shiny, uniform look and artificial, plasticky texture (aka it doesn't really look like leather).
Weejuns were always the go-to entry-level, budget loafers, priced around $100 when not on sale. A few years ago, G.H. Bass was repositioned as a more luxury offering, with their traditional Larson and Logan loafers, which had been priced at $110, currently going for $175+ yet with no discernable upgrade to the quality of their leather to match the increase in price. If you know your size, you can still find certain models/colors for sale new on ebay etc. for around that $100 mark.
With that said, I wouldn't dream of paying more than that. With most of their models being priced from $175-200, they are now squarely competing with offerings from the likes of Meermin, Beckett Simonon and more, all of whom offer substantially better quality leather and construction. These too can be found for healthy discounts if you happen across them at the right time on online marketplaces.

Allen Edmonds Sizing Comparison
I agree. Unfortunately, the Sea Island loafers were discontinued by Allen Edmonds years ago. The best I could hope for is going to an AE store and trying on loafers from different lasts, see what the results are, and hope those older loafers fit in the same ballpark.

I feel results were mixed when looking online. I'd see people complaining about being excessively baggy or seams tearing, but also others that thought it was a good value and fit well.
