I'm currently looking into this brand. Especially liked some of their moccasins.

These loafers have become one of my favorite pairs of shoes — I call them “slip on vans for grown ups” (no hate on slip on vans they’re super comfortable and were a staple when I lived in California)

I got them on sale for like $60 if I remember right. The more beat up they get the better they look.

I wore my new Weejuns to work for the first time today. Felt good and got a few compliments. Nice start.

As it pertains to the stitching, I found it to be perfectly serviceable. The leather however on their traditional models is a fairly low quality bonded leather that has a very shiny, uniform look and artificial, plasticky texture (aka it doesn't really look like leather). Weejuns were always the go-to entry-level, budget loafers, priced around $100 when not on sale. A few years ago, G.H. Bass was repositioned as a more luxury offering, with their traditional Larson and Logan loafers, which had been priced at $110, currently going for $175+ yet with no discernable upgrade to the quality of their leather to match the increase in price. If you know your size, you can still find certain models/colors for sale new on ebay etc. for around that $100 mark. With that said, I wouldn't dream of paying more than that. With most of their models being priced from $175-200, they are now squarely competing with offerings from the likes of Meermin, Beckett Simonon and more, all of whom offer substantially better quality leather and construction. These too can be found for healthy discounts if you happen across them at the right time on online marketplaces. You can also frequently find Allen Edmonds seconds on their website Shoebank for similar prices, yet much higher quality. Some Weejuns models are offered in what seem to be higher quality leathers but I really would need to feel them to judge. Personally, at the current price point I would not consider them a worthwhile investment.

Here is a video of a G.H. Bass non-Weejuns loafer deconstruction. Visually, I would say the leather in the video is identical to my Weejuns. https://youtu.be/ZKlk9dTCnCg

After properly running through their current lineup, there is a Larson variant that claims to be made with "Pull-Up Leather" discounted to $110 that may not be a bad value

I have an old pair of navy cord shoes from GH Bass. Faux leather interior is disintegrated and flaked off now, about 6 years on. I didn’t end up wearing them much.
