if you've got C&A in Britain, they have a winter line of cotton 5-pocket pants (ie. shaped like jeans but not made out of denim) that have a warm cotton lining on the inside, I swear by those, I have a pair in chocolate brown and they're one of my favorite things to wear

I got a really nice double-pleated pair from Lindbergh recently, that brand might not be the budget of a university student but if you're in the UK then your pounds will go further than my złotys

^ corduroy is goated, and especially appropriate/comfy when cold comes in both 5-pocket pants (ie. with a layout like jeans, with curved J-shaped front pockets that open from the top) and chino (front pockets less exposed, cut vertically or diagonally from the sides) forms

also I'm not sure if the raw exposed leather (?) on the edges isn't a moisture magnet
