I think having a core "identity" that has some sort of stylistic consistency is cool But at the same time some days I just feel like wearing chunky sneakers, a hoodie and sweatpants ya know I'm also lucky in a sense, because basically I can wear whatever I want to work, and as long as I look presentable nobody really cares. That also frees me from having to deal with the nightmare that is a separate work wardrobe

Depends on season, but to put a label on it, I'd classify it as "lazy luxury". In summer it's very Umit/Haider/retro druglord vibes. White/off white as a neutral base. A lot more colour as well. In winter it's predominantly olives and blacks, but the style leans more on the military side (often with sleek combat boots and tapered pants). Again, Umit and Haider as a stylistic reference, but more on the Haider side. In winter the silhouette tends to be more tapered than the wider fits of summer. I've been trying to use more colours in the winter months, which I want to keep experimenting with. A few years ago I used to wear exclusively black/white/grey in winter, so I'd say it's been a successful experiment so far.

How you put together outfits - Topic of the day 9/26/23
usually this is my thought process: 1. context - what am i doing and where am i going? what kind of people? 2. what do i feel like wearing? what's the vibe i wanna put out? 3. recent cop bias - i recently got X, is it time for its maiden voyage/test drive?

Quality in clothing - Topic of the day 9/21/23
So in this case even though Berluti makes SLP prices look like Zara because they’re basically double the price The quality is basically the same. I would wager that the leather Berluti uses is thicker (does it mean it’s better?), but as far as construction of the actual pieces go, they’re on the same level

Quality in clothing - Topic of the day 9/21/23
Quality in designer clothes is a fallacy Sure it tends to be better made than fast fashion stuff, but beyond a certain price point, it’s really a case of diminishing returns and you’re just paying for the name and exclusivity Case in point: Berluti shoes are supposed to be one of the best that money can buy. A couple of months ago I noticed the sole peeling so it took them to the cobbler… only to learn that they’re cemented, not Blake stitched (let alone GYW lol). So in this case, these boots are just a fashion item, not a military grade or anything like that. The sleekness of the design took priority over everything else. At the end of the day, you have to consider designer clothes as “fashion” items. They are not built to last forever.
