I ended up using Fabric and it worked with version 1.20.1

Update: I got minecraft to run by reinstalling minecraft on the Modrinth app launcher. I installed version 1.20.1 because that's the only version that I could make work with Iris.
The game now runs great but does anyone know how to increase RAM usage on the game through the Modrinth app launcher? I see in the settings bar you can increase your RAM usage under "Java memory" but I guess I'm wondering if this is increasing memory on the game or for the actual launcher? Assuming the game lol but wasn't quite sure because I'm getting a crazy input lag.

I believe if you go to the settings on Modrinth, there's a bar at the bottom of the page called "Java memory" and you can drag the bar to your desired usage. However I'm not sure if this is actually for minecraft or for the modrinth launcher itself lol.

incompatible with latest update
Hi! Thank you @Miki_P98 , I followed all of these steps and they were super useful. I opted for version 1.21 of minecraft. But the only error I'm getting now seems to be an error with Iris. I tried the newest version, the 1.21 verison (which should work since I selected version 1.21), and even tried older versions. Anyone know a fix around this?

- Remove mod 'Iris' (iris) 1.7.2+mc1.21

Gotcha, thanks for sharing. I wonder when the config file gets generated. Perhaps after opening fabric for the first time? Maybe I could just skip the distant horizons mod to open fabric for the first time and then it would generate the /config folder? And then I could try readding the distant horizons mod to the /mods folder + creating that text file in the /config file if needed.

I'm using fabric on modrinth. Also tried following the steps after that were suggested to " un zip the mod and edit the version check inside" but none of the mods seem to be zip folders. All executable jar files.
I'm very new to this so apologies lol

I checked and I don't seem to have a /config folder. Is there any program I need to have to have this folder populate? I checked some different forums online where others could not locate their /config folder but it wasn't very helpful.
