With that load the belts aren’t actually particularly tight. Went tensioning previously without gats I had them tighter. The belt bodies look fine, thanks for the heads up though

The more weight the closer it gets to good. I'm at absurd amounts though. I could trim down the length of the belts, but that would mean pulling them out of the housing they are in which is a nightmare

There were improvements at 4.7, but it can probably go up to about 5.2ish

4.7kg on X and the graphs look much more correct. It feels like it still needs to be higher on the Y

Ugh, redid everything and tuned with GATS 3.7kg. My results are now considerably worse than before.

My point is that DIY does not properly encapsulate the level of difficulty at hand.
I think there was a bit of a hang up over my original wording of my complaint. You said it in the middle of the discussion, “I guess managing expectations is the part that’s failing.”. That is a better way to put what I was trying to recommend fixes to the product page for.
I digress, this is all pointless to this thread. I will try GATS tuning after the parts come in for me to try it. If GATS is going to be added to the commissioning guide, I urge you to include the hardware (extra couple bearings, screws) in the kit in order to perform it.

Can a person effectively tune their idex printer using the information solely in the commissioning guide? The amount of posts I see about it makes me think that they can't

That is not at all what I am saying. I am saying that there should be more clarity in the sales pages as to how complex, time consuming, and still beta the commissioning is.
