Yeah it does typically sit anywhere between 4 and 6 inches away, I can adjust it and give that a go. Ill also look for a more powerful audio interface or just grab a cloud lifter to give me a boost. Thanks!

I have reached a point in his video that I've often wondered is part of my overall audio issues. He instructs you to turn off all filters, and adjust your audio interface so that your dB sits around -12 to -16. He says this will be very low on my interface, but my interface doesn't pick up my voice unless it's at a 9 or higher. Do I have a poor interface for my microphone? I'm using the Euphoria UMC204HD with the Shure MV7+.
I have to always have my interface on high and then add a gain filter so my levels get to about -12/-16

Okay so then how would I translate the needed compression settings to the normal compressor? Im not sure what is supposed to be at or how to identify what I NEED it to be at.

See the person helping me did not explain any of this, I mean they did but in a very very basic Explain like Im 5 type of way. I just did what they told me to do.

As we can tell, Im new to this. I dont know what any of these settings do.
These settings were selected with the help of someone on reddit offering to help me set up the microphone via live stream. They joined me in a stream and made suggestions based off what they heard.

You are correct. I have recorded myself speaking with all filters on, and then turning them off one by one. It appears to be the compression filter but I cant seem to figure out what part of it is causing it. I have adjusted the gain a bit, but other than that no setting Ive changed seems to be having any positive results
