First MTM suit - advice?
Hi! I'm going to buy my first MTM suit soon. I've bought a heavy charcoal tweed suit before but rarely wear it since it's so warm. I want to get something as versatile as possible, something I can wear most (all?) seasons for weddings, funerals and work. I read the Put This On guide on buying your first suit, which says it's best to take a navy one with casual fabric and details that can be separated so you can wear the jacket by itself. I'm unsure about that since it might be better to get a new regular suit and some vintage sports jackets. On the other hand, I don't really like shiny fabrics anyway, a more casual suit would perhaps be more versatile and if the jacket is cool I might want to wear it with tan or grey trousers. What do you think? And other tips before getting your first MTM suit?

Iron Heart
Pros: heavy denim Cons: heavy burden on my wallet Is Iron Heart worth the high retail price outside Japan? What's your experience? Does the brand have more to offer beyond insanely thick cloth?

Outfit field work tropical environments
For my job I sometimes work in tropical or just hot environments for some weeks, mostly in developing countries. I have to work in the field (for example plantations, mines or slums) and I also have more formal meetings with government officials. I am always struggling with what to wear during these trips. I want to have an outfit I can wear to a slum and a government official on the same day. So it needs to be suitable for a hot or humid environment, comfortable for travel, practical and (semi) formal. In the past I have worn Blundstones, chino's, lightweight cotton button downs and fleece/rain jacket as outer layer. But I would like to switch it up a bit and hear some ideas. I also don't really like the look of khaki pants with a light blue shirt anymore, because it makes me feel like I am wearing business casual office wear. The fleece is very practical but it makes me look like a tourist when I show up at an office. I'm not too sure about budget. I can afford to buy something expensive but I don't know if it's smart to do so since clothes tend to get dirty or damaged.

How about European heritage workwear?
Hi all, Since a lot of workwear is focussed on Americana, I was wondering if we can look at some European heritage workwear. Of course there's English boots, Scottish tweed, French bleu de travail, German flecktarn military jackets. But maybe there's more? Of course a lot of 20th century clothing in Europe has been heavily influenced by American culture: jeans and t-shirts are quintessentially American. And in the current menswear moment, a lot of 'heritage' menswear in Europe is not actually our own heritage, but we're copying it from the US. But maybe there's Italian work jackets, Spanish trousers, Belgian shoes and French shirts which we're completely overlooking?
