if you truely cannot be hardwired, you are at least having an internal wifi now which is less prone to overheating which if you were using for 7 years. not surprised at the inconsistent speeds.

It wouldn't matter here. Im thinking gigabyte might have disabled the onboard wifi and Bluetooth by default. And Birdie needs to enable it again

In windows search type device manager. Go under Network adapter category what do you currently have under there

You just need to disconnect the usb wifi adapter. And reconnect the mobo antenna

you most likely have a intel wifi chipset. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19351/834800/intel-wireless-wi-fi-drivers-for-windows-10-and-windows-11.html download this. then disconnect the usb wifi dongle. install the driver
