Vertical ripples/horizontal lines/Z-banding
Today I also did a larger print with PETG in the center of the plate and there were no ripples visible at all. I checked with a knife-edge square..

Again all three cylinders look okay and no ripples.
Then I tested again with cubes at the exact same position (tri level measurement position). The cubes now look also okay with almost no ripples (only minor, barely visible and random; I'd consider them normal, maybe double layers caused by warping)
Then I tested with two cubes in the center of the plate. The ripples are visible now again.
This really confuses me... Maybe they are visible due to the matte finish of this filament. In fact it looks worse than it is?

Hmmm, very strange... All three cylinders look the same and without ripples...
Only difference: The filament was not totally dry and cold. Before I dried it for at least 6 hours and used the still warm spool...
But this should not make a difference regarding the ripples, right?
Nevertheless: I started drying and will retry printing the cylinders. Let's see if this makes any difference...

Tried also with print speed down to 100mm/sec, did not help either...

I remeasured 1m of filament (each 5 cm). Diameter stays between 1,7 and 1,67 mm, so it cannot be excessive material. Maybe varying density?
Or does it have to do something with hotend and 0,4 nozzle?
Or did I just get a bad spool? (Well I ordered another one to check this)

Vertical ripples/horizontal lines/Z-banding
I did some more test prints (simple cubes) with varying print parameters (Number of walls, Speed, etc.).
My first print was with two cubes at once and the second print with one cube alone.
The distance between the ripples doubled from two cubes to one cube, which means there is definitely some problem with the filament...
Z-axis i definitely not the problem otherwise the distance between ripples wouldn't change...

I just printed the same part using JAYO PETG filament. It shows no horizontal lines now.
So I guess it's not an issue caused by hardware alone and has to do something with the filament.
I measured the thickness of the filament for around 1m.... Diameter does not change.

Problems with Orbiter Smart Sensor
Just a comment: using "press_gcode" makes more sense to me when pressing the button in reality.

Aaah, there it is....

Problems with Orbiter Smart Sensor
Hm, but I'm still not sure how to change the button configuration as it doesn't do anything when pressing the button.
Should I negate the pin like this?
[gcode_button toolhead_filament_sensor_button_t0]
pin: !^toolboard_t0:PB4
release_gcode:
UNLOAD_FILAMENT

Problems with Orbiter Smart Sensor
Regarding runout: I did testing without printing when removing the filament from the sensor, so the "runout_gcode" is correctly not triggered. User error 🙂

Yes ,I used the documentation. But did not work as it was. Now I'm searching the problem.

According to https://github.com/RobertLorincz/Orbiter-2-Smart-Sensor/blob/main/Klipper%20Config/Orbiter2_SmartSensor.cfg
the button section should be:
[gcode_button toolhead_filament_sensor_button_t0]
pin: ^toolboard_t0:PB4
press_gcode:
UNLOAD_FILAMENT
release_gcode:

Problems with Orbiter Smart Sensor
I did some tests:
OK results: =>
inserting filament -> "insert"
OK results, but wrong documentation: =>
filament inserted & pressing button -> "pressed"
filament inserted & pressing button & filament removed -> "released"
filament inserted & simulated tangle -> "pressed"
filament inserted & simulated tangle & filament removed -> "released"
NOT OK result:
removing filament -> <nothing>

OK changed code a bit to get every event (hopefully)

V-Core 3.0 500 Belt Tension
tension seems ok, as the peaks are below each other. But there is some other vibration coming from somewhere. Check also whether the belts run free on the pulleys and the gears (in the middle) so the teeth of the belts do not rub at some edges (follow upper belt).
Only other solution: Use real time analysis and touching various stuff to find the part that is vibrating.

Ah ok, I first tensioned the x/y belts (first graphs) and then installed and ran the other graphs. Out of curiosity I ran also belt tension macro.

FYI: I had to tighten the coreXY belts for 1/4 to get a clear second peak in Hybrid frequency response. Increasing the tension of the Hybrid belts reduced height of second peak.
