How viable is a Macbook for this program?
This was my first semester, and there was no problem at all when I was using Macbook throughout the semester.. I'm pretty sure you can use almost any softwares on Mac nowadays, so I would say you won't run into any major problems by sticking to Mac.

4 Courses and Full time work
I'm currently in my first semester, taking 4 in-class and 1 online course (COM101), and working part time (~20 hours/week). Everything is doable and manageable and I've gotten decent grades so far, but that might be because I have prior exprience in programming. My friend who is in the same sem is working full time though, mostly working after 4pm and on weekends. She seems to maintain the balance of works pretty well, but I can see that it will be more difficult for her to find time to study in the 2nd semester, as I assume it will require more study time.

Help with preparation for CPP in September
I would say definitely learn C from free online courses before the program starts, if it's your first time coding. Things will rapidly become harder and by week 5-6 you might struggle to even finish the workshops. Other than that, I don't think you should worry about learning anything else because you will learn things as you go and other courses don't involve any programming knowledge. If you have extra time, I would spend time on installing softwares like VS Code and Git Bash (Windows) get familar with using them little bit
oh and make sure you pick a good prof for CPR101, because the course is a joke and some profs don't teach at all and are the worst instructors you will ever meet (john)

Any Mac users in the program?
Thank you for your kind explanation! I do have a Windows gaming laptop I bought 6 years ago but it is way to heavy to bring it to the school so I will just use my Mac as you suggested. As long as there won't be a problem when submitting assignments online, I guess I won't have a major problem with it!
