CPA Hardware Question
Do I really need 512GB of storage, 16gb RAM, and a quad core processor to make it through CPA or can I make do with 128GB of storage and 8gb of RAM. Only asking because the first hardware specs I mentioned were listed as requirements and I don't really have the money to upgrade/purchase a better laptop

You'll be fine with that, it'll just be slower.
i've said it before and i'll say it again, you could complete the entire curriculum on a raspberry pi 4 if you wanted to
it literally does not matter what you are using as long as it can run a C compiler
until sem 5
having 512GB of storage and 16GB of memory with a modern CPU makes the experience a lot more pleasant
but you don't need it
oh yeah i guess you also need to be able to run Python on your machine too
that's a relief
there's a guy in here doing the entire course on a netbook so i think you'll be fine
hopefully i can buy a better laptop after this sem cause my current mac is dogshit LOL
wise
also will i run into any issues downloading microsoft office instead of office 365?
current OS doesn't support 365
office 365 sucks anyway
the only app i'm missing is teams
https://tb.rg-adguard.net/public.php you can download microsoft office here

if you can't afford a microsoft office license, then you can afford piracy

the problem is moreso javafx in sem 5
java ides suck and working just with Java source files and management yourself is a fucking nightmare
oh yeah alright that'll get you
bet i'll look into this
appreciate you both for being helpful @.caramelcorn @satelliteharassment
I often find myself using more than 16gb of RAM on my mac, so I recommend getting 16gb as a bare minimum
I only "needed" 16 gb of ram when I was using docker in sem 5-6 in the OSD courses. Until then I only used a lot of ram cause I was lazy and left like 50 tabs open
yeah I was fine with 8gb on windows / linux
idk if Mac is just a fatter OS or not tho
Also, I think you get Office 365 from college, or is it only Onedrive?
Could potentially avoid downloading it and just use in browser
it usually tends to manage memory well enough to still ship 8GB base model laptops for the macbook air line
they can give you downloads for Office but you can also download directly from Microsoft and activate it using your seneca email
