why do i keep getting such high pings in apac server especially sg recently? i usualy got 20ish ms but now its just straight 100-200 ms

i simply use a dns application for this. just search 1.1.1.1 in browser and ull find cloudware warp, open it and change the configuration from 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.1.1 with WARP and i can play with normal ping right after

Same here, it does the job of bringing back our normal pings at the cost of occasional packet losses. In order to avoid getting a consistent packet, I had to restart my wifi on my pc until I get 0% packet loss. Most of the time I don’t need to but happens sometimes.

If the packet loss is 0, then nothing to worry about inconsistency no matter the ping

That looks like a platform side issue, I'd open up a player support ticket. Kinda looks like the client can't even get to matchmaking and the menus

@Del Bringo I really really would appreciate if you could please look into this issue. I have been facing a constant +30ms ping increase since a couple of months. I have contacted my ISP, asked them to check if there’s an issue with their service, they said everything was working fine and instead told it has to be an issue from the game servers. For the record, I have tried factory resetting my PC and have done everything I could but every effort has gone in vain. Please look into this issue

@Del Bringo Let me clarify this. Currently, there was a breakage of fibre cable thats located in midway of singapore and malaysia which is why everyone facing issues with sg server. It will take a few days to fix this. No solution to this.

hey, i got a problem where the ping when i'm in the main menu (lobby) is high, but when i get into the game (match), it's a constant 20ms (singapore), but because the singapore server ping is high in lobby, sometimes i got thrown to other server like hongkong (80ms) and mumbai (170ms), because those two servers got lower ping in the lobby, even though i didn't select them. pls help me fix it 🙂

guys I am betting that these issues are ISP related routing problems towards us, I know that it might sound selfish but our severs are likely never to be the problem (I mean like 99,99% of the problems are on Network between ISP < - > Riot Servers) Sometimes ISPs are making routing changes that fix one thing, but break other things, most of the times they don't even know that they influenced routing towards Riot incorrectly. We are periodically checking / communicating with your ISPs to find a quick and easy to implement solution so you guys can get the latency down again towards our servers. WORK IN PROGRESS

@Kevin🇮🇶 I reached out to a provider who carries your traffic to Europe, he agreed on our propose changes, that should get us about 15ms better latency on average towards Frankfurt. but in theory you guys should be playing in Bahrain or Dubai servers so we need to take a look why those are so high to you, that might take more time
I saw an improvement from 92ms to about 75ms but unfortunately their link went down due to a physical fibre breakdown in Germany, so we will have to wait until they restore it. unfortunate event timing-wise as well

last night was attrocious, i would typically get 80ms on tokyo but it now went to 125ms average and sg/hk still had the packet loss issue as bad as 50%
i feel bad for people like me at the gaming cafe, we pay good money to play there and we had to deal with this cus the isp is ass
do note that the packet loss isn't consistent for the whole match, it would just go down then get back up at what i can feel like is random intervals, it typically reaches about 15% packet loss but could be as bad as 30% or even 50% at times, it's attrocious
Update: Playing rn on a different branch of the gaming cafe, seems like there's less packet loss on hk but i can't tell if that's because of the branch or y'all did something with the isp

Yeah globe is pretty bad rn. been there for around 2 months. started to play more minecraft than valo now cuz of this.
The packet loss kinda lessens during the day tho. During the night at around 8pm, it goes up to 15 - 20% regularly and around up to 50 - 100% during peak times

it gets worse, you'll notice the spikes especially at select hours
folks I am in touch with Globe and they are willing to work with us to fix the problem, ill keep you posted when we get somewhere

Globe guys can you check and report back ? Globe made some adjustments and I see ploss dropped a lot(roughly 5hrs ago), meanwhile we are trying to cook something more robust up with the ISP

as i speak rn, i'm at the gaming cafe, checking in what it feels like
yesterday, it went from bad to worse starting with consistent 5% packet loss on both hk and singapore to ping spikes higher than mount everest
ping got so bad it kicked me out the game luckily when it brought me back, the latency was better
mine was fine this morning but now packet loss is back again at 15-20%
played mostly in the range which i think is the hk server and it doesn't feel any different
might've fixed the ping spike issue that i got yesterday but not the packet loss
sg seems fine although i wasn't checking the packet loss enough in my dm, but my shots were hitting more than they should so ig the packet loss spikes have diminished

@estrs riot did work on something but from the way i see it, they still need to work on more, i literally lost cus of the 50-60% packet loss spike that lasted for a whole ass half
its usually around late night around 12am where the ping gets better

We are seeing very high packet loss from Global Telecom PH, we are working with them on long term solution, but in the mean time we've raised the issue with them.
Yeah it was fine for few hours since they made a change, we are talking to them again.
glad to see riot's doing their part. Wishing that the ISP actually cooperates cus as far as I'm concerned, filipino ISP's are known to be shiteheads, especially pldt, even today they're known for randomly cutting internet off for paying users, no joke.
Wish you guys the best to work this issue out since from what I can tell and the people who run the gaming cafes i go to, Valorant's the only game with this issue, even league doesn't have this issue

i usually play at about 60ms for sg but it's hit 80 rn, actually, for the past few days

We are working on connecting to Globe Telecom directly to bypass all the congestion points. It'll take a few more days as cables needs to be installed

oh man this is a though one! go tell Digicel to get a direct connection in Miami datacenters so we can route there, current path goes via internet (random providers) ill have a look at this through out the week if we can cook something up

Nah I think that's something we can cook up on our end. Basically we'll chat with your ISP to see if we can't plug our router into their router in Miami if we're not already doing that.

i would queue up swiftplay or deathmatch but if the next match is comp, then i get near 200 ping, i wonder if that's a bug, isp issue, hardware issue or something else

hey, the packet loss for globe telecom has been fixed but it seems like ping is much worse now, 19-25 ping to 39-44 in hong kong
and 30-35 in singapore to 50-55
@estrs that is all them they are having capacity issues - high amount of bandwidth flowing through their systems and the "pipes" are small, we are waiting for a solution that we suggested for Globe in form of physical link to their datacenters, this will reduce packet loss and also should lower the average latency

My ping has been quite unstable lately. It keeps going between 60, 40, and 120. In my last update, my ping was stable, but it seems to have become more erratic.

Hey everyone got some good news, we have finished building link with Globe ISP in Philippines, activated today and see already about 20ms improvement on all Riot games in the area, packet loss should improve as well, let us know what you see folks on Globe ISP
