Charging cable requirement

Hi there, is there any requirement for the charging cable when charging a “nice!nano plus nice!view” corne? I came from a Logitech MX keys Mini keyboard, and wondering is it okay to use its charging cable to charge my corne? Would this cause some issues the corne in the long run? Thank you very much for your help!...

Corne 6 Column with premium case has random delay in communicating the key press to the computer

I finished building the keyboard and no matter which half I am using there exist this random delay between key press and it registering on the computer. Anyone has any idea how to debug/fix?

No solder spring header installation

Hi guys, I’m building my first ever corne from Typeractive, feeling really excited now! I was reading the installation guide of nice!nano from https://docs.typeractive.xyz/build-guides/corne-wireless/nice-nano. It says for No-Solder Hotswap headers, I only need to insert them into the top of PCB, but since there are two ends of a solderless header and the pins on each end has pretty much the same length. I am not sure which end should be attached to PCB? ...

Corne 6col is not detected as a drive when connected via USB

ZMK studio is detecting my Corne 6col using USB but it is not showing as a drive so I can update the firmware that I have built. Any guidance on figuring out the problem?

Charged Corne 6col overnight and battery is never above 68

I received my Corne, set it up and it is not going above 60% charge. what can be the cause?

nice!nano’s not charging my batteries.

I bought these batties off amazon to use on my split keyboard handwired build. The batteries had some charge when I installed them, and both nice!nanos do work with batteries and power on, but they do not seem to be able to charge the batteries at all. I left them plugged overnight and still no charge....

Nice!view not working with one of my nanos

I just bought (order TA15581) a wireless corne and everything seems to be working except one of the displays, which shows static. The display was originally installed on the left. I swapped it with the working display from the right side and the left side continued to be the problem, so I think the display itself is fine. I then swapped the nanos and the problem followed the left-side nano to the right-side....

Keyboard not working.

I have tried with multiple nice!nanos, and had success flashing the firmware on the boards, but I cannot get both halves to connect. The left half connects to the computer but cannot get the right to connect to the left. Only a few keys actually work on the left half. The niceviews also dont display any info, sometimes they do but they mainly just show a pixilated screen.

Row and column of Corne stopped working

Hi, I have been happily using my Corne keyboard for 2 years. Just now I think I transferred some static when touching my keyboard, I saw a spark. Now the EDC column and bottom thumb row stopped working (see screenshot). Do I need to get a new controller or pcb? Or is there a way to save this? 😬

Lily58 Linux Troubleshooting

Hello! I've just finished building my Lily58 kit and installing the firmware. Everything seems to work ok when connected to my Android phone. However, while I can seemingly pair with my laptop, once connected the keyboard does not type! I am running Arch Linux on a Thinkpad X280, and using bluetoothctl....

1 column of lily58 not working

I've had this board for quite a while now (almost a year) and suddenly the left-most column of the board is not working. I have a multi-meter and a decent understanding of how the keyboard works. I think I've ruled out it being the nice nano, I'm pretty sure it's an issue with the pcb. I've disassembled the keyboard and there's no obvious issues. BTW I'm using the solder-free headers and I have hot swap sockets, so I doubt it's a solder joint issue (I don't see anything)...

help overriding pins config

I have nice_nano_v2 with damaged GPIO 5. I rewired row 2 of corne to use pin 0 (by adding wire between pins) and modified corne shield definition in zmk source code file "zmk/app/boards/shields/corne/corne_left.overlay" (I build locally). How can I achieve same effect, but through user-config?...

Left half of wireless Corne won't turn on

Hi, recently finished a first build. Both sides were able to be flashed with firmware, but only the right half turns on with battery power when the switch is on (up). The left half works while plugged in to USB. I used no-solder headers and all pins look to be making contact. One thing I noticed is perhaps the battery plug is incorrect? See the picture where the red is not aligned to the positive (+) insert for the left side. On the right board the red goes to positive. The jack seems like it can only go in one way, so it's not as if I can flip it. Is this the issue or is there something else? Thanks!...

Connecting to Linux machine

Hello, I am trying to connect my 5-col wireless Corne to my linux desktop PC (fresh install) and it is not showing up on the device list to pair. It works fine pairing with other devices and I have another keyboard which paired with no problem. I have already cleared the BT profile. It seems that it might just not be showing the “Corne” name but I do not know how to pick it out of all the other random addresses.

German layout

Hi! I have build my first keyboard and so far a lot works fine. I want to use german characters like äßöü. Those work fine. But i am not able to setup the @ character, square brackets or the pipe character. I setup the keys_de.h config and added the import to my keymap file as state in this guide: https://zmk.dev/blog/2024/01/05/zmk-tools#zmk-locale-generator I also tried changing the locale of my keyboard, that wasnt successfull either since the "german umlaute" were removed by the change. ...

nice!nano certain key presses result in four presses along the row

I purchased the solderless option for my corne 5 column, and it has consistently been an issue. The USB-c cable sold by typeractive is so stiff and tight in the port on the nice!nano that the chip regularly comes loose from circuit board. When this happens, the keyboard behaves in bizarre ways, such as that described above; specifically, it is the first column on right side. On this occasion however, I pressed on the nice!nano and ensured it was seated correctly, and the problem was not resolved. I tried reflashing the firmware, but this also did not work. To further narrow down the issue, I tried switching the right and the left chip, leaving the solderless pins through the receptors on the chips. In this experiment, the faulty chip behaved in exactly the same way in mirror image on the left side. This led me to believe that the issue is either with the chip itself or with the chip-side connection to the solderless pins. To further test, I removed both chips from the pins and started to switch the left/right pins. Unfortunately, I managed to snap one of the pins in half so it can no longer function. My hypothesis is that one or more of the soldered connections on the chip itself was broken loose under the strain of Typeractive's USB-c cable; the whole chip visibly bends and deforms every time I plug in the cable, despite my best efforts to be gentle and keep everything aligned. The keyboard stopped working after the last time I unplugged the cable. I'm obviously going to need more pins--maybe I'll solder them this time--but I'm wondering if the community has any advice about the issue I was seeing. Should I perhaps buy an additional nice!nano? Should I invest in a different USB-c cable too? Are my handling practices erroneous? Is the chip malfunctioning due to manufacturer error? I'd appreciate someone else's take. I love this keyboard and I'd hate to leave it behind! Thanks all...

Unable to flash firmware to nice!nano

Hi all! I just received two nice nanos in the mail and was able to flash one of them with both the firmware provided on typeractive's website as well as my own custom firmware. But I'm having difficulty getting my second nano to flash properly. When I plug in the nano, it's blue light flashes rapidly on its own without pressing the reset button. And it only requires one press of the reset button/shorting gnd and rst to get it to enter it's bootloader mode and register as a drive on my windows computer. When I try to upload my firmware my computer gives an interesting error that says
"These files might be harmful to your computer: Your internet security settings suggest that one or more files may be harmful. Do you want to use it anyway?" ...

Help choosing parts for beginner

I am a beginner and this is my first build. I haven’t soldered anything before so i’m def doing the PCB, 3d printed cases and covers, no-solder hotswap, choc switches. I am unsure on if i should buy the batteries from typeractive bc they seem kinda small. Is there larger batteries i can choose so i only have to charge like monthly? are the nicenanos needed or is there a cheaper part? it’s getting a little expensive for me so i would prefer if i was able to get a cheaper version. also can i add t...

nice!nano seems to have broken after USBC charging and a cold walk

Hi y'all. Built my first corne using the solderless headers. So for context, I walk to work in a cold state in the USA. I charged my corne overnight via USB-C (it didn't show 100% charge after, but it had never fully charged). I walked to work (~30min in 5F-ish, standard for the week prior) a whole row & col of keys (corresponding to p1.13 and p1.00, both 4 up from the bottom) were no longer working on the right side. The corne was in my bag, and it wasn't banged or anything like that. The cold may have been unrelated, maybe I just put it together wrong -- but it had been working for around a week or so before this. I'm a newbie when it comes to electronics, so I tried to have Mr. GPT help talk me through the steps as I read the troubleshooting documentation. So my main question is: Is this something that I broke? Could the cold do this? Or is this just a bad nice!nano? The AI also summarized all of the troubleshooting steps below. ...
