Will the firmware work with a different PCB when using the nice!nano & nice!view?
Hi yall, beginner question and I hope It's alright to ask this in here.
Context: I have an existing Corne from another seller, which sadly just doesn't work and I couldn't figure out the exact issue (they don't use nice!nano & nice!view). Therefore I wanted to order the corne choc from you but saw it's currently out of stock.
Question:
Now I'm wondering: If I get the nice!nano, !view and the no solder headers from you, could the software work on the PCB I already have? Is there a risk of me damaging something?
My thinking was I could order the things in the screenshot now and then potentially get your PCB and case at another point.

Hello! Thanks for reaching out.
While the nice!nano and nice!view are compatible with many PCBs, the firmware we provide is specifically configured for our custom Corne and Lily58 boards. The pinouts and hardware configurations can vary between different Corne PCBs from different sellers.
Using our firmware on a different PCB might not work correctly and could potentially cause issues, although it's unlikely to cause permanent damage if the nice!nano is installed correctly.
If you're interested in using the nice!nano and nice!view with your existing Corne PCB, you would likely need to build custom ZMK firmware tailored to that specific PCB's pinout. The ZMK documentation (https://zmk.dev/docs/user-setup) provides guides on how to set up your own ZMK config.
We recommend waiting for our Corne Choc PCB to come back in stock for the easiest and most guaranteed compatibility with our provided firmware and build guides.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
That's great advice, thank you!
