pfSense DDNS via Cloudflare
looks like more reading in my future. wish i knew what trigged this though, but there's probably too many variables at this point. I use pihole with a windows server as backup DNS, but all was working without a hitch up to this point

i remember someone else mentioned that option to me a while back, but I didnn't get there because I didn't need to since all was working fine. The odd thing is while all my services were RED I was still able to ping them via domain name 🤷♂️ oh well, this got the job done. thanks again

thanks. that makes sense and I suppose I'll try that... I was trying to understand what happened here and if it's and if it's an issue with CF. I'm inclined to believe it is, because nothing changed from my end.

CNAME Flattening
ok wow. that's the part I was missing.
need A record set to @ and then the CNAME record set to www and the target set to @. now that makes wayyyyy more sense. facepalm on myself

CNAME Flattening
to be honest. I didn't try pointing anything to the CNAME when it was originally "www". That just didn't make sense to me

CNAME Flattening
I sort of get that. My confusion lies in the fact that it was populated that way originally and for whatever reason my A record would not resolve. All my sub domains would, but not the root. Then when I did the flip it did.

Thank you for that Sir. Gonna have to chew on that for a bit. DNS is a helluva thing.

CNAME Flattening
sort of...I'm asking about the way it was originally, when it was flipped (CNAME record was www | A record was ABCD.com) and there was NO notice about flattening. why no notice then, but now when I flip the scenario I'm getting that notice?
so currently my scenario is (CNAME record ABCD.com | A record is www) and things appear to be working as intended

Ok, well I have no experience with that. It looks like a volume issue though

It’s a location/volume issue for sure. Can you elaborate on why you want to the data directories moved?

Import Config from previous instance
I have to weigh how much I care about this. It’s not a deal breaker by any means. Seems like a feature that would’ve rolled over easily, but if it didn’t I assume it’s because it takes some effort. That effort should probably go to more worthy features.

I understand. My instance is on a vm, so I have to go digging around a bit to find that folder. Not a major deal, but dragging and dropping onto the main dashboard was very convenient.

@Tag any chance of implementing the drag and drop import feature from before?
