Ptyxis opening on startup
I'm having an issue where ptyxis opens upon logging into KDE every single time without me having changed any setting to make it do so. I can't remember exactly when this started happening but it was a month or two ago. I've tried resetting all dconf settings I could see related to it in dconf editor, I've tried looking through my autostart settings in KDE, I've looked in my bash_profile and other files that could make things start up on login, I've changed my default terminal to konsole, and still I just can't seem to diagnose why this is happening. If anyone could help it would be very much appreciated.

Latest snapshot with mesa 24.1 makes colors washed out on my laptop display
Updated today to the new snapshot and now my colors look quite washed out on my laptop display. Rolled back to the previous one and everything looks normal as it always has up until this point.
I have an asus zephyrus g14 2022 (GA402RK).
Note: This problem did not occur on my desktop's monitors.

Duperemove continuing infinitely after getting stuck on a file
I've encountered an issue where duperemove will run into "invalid argument" on a certain file and just continue running and using a bunch of cpu+battery life forever unless I turn it off. I left it for about an hour yesterday with
watch -n 0.5 systemctl status [email protected]
and it never moved past the files it was stuck on. When I restart the service it'll scan a few files then run into the problem again.

Gnome xwayland-fractional-scaling patch discussion
I've been trying to reproduce the issue where discord can't be resized in bazzite-gnome with the fractional scaling patch applied and I can't, it resizes normally for me. I did this in a fresh bazzite-gnome VM after layering the packages with the patch. Resizing by dragging the window corner worked fine at 4k 150% scaling. I know @Astral also can't reproduce this.
Not sure if this helps narrow down where the issue is at all, but it might be a starting point.

AMD dGPU permanently on with bazzite-asus image
I have an asus zephyrus g14 2022 version. With base fedora kinoite layering asusctl, as well as on ublue's kinoite-asus image, the dGPU powers down properly when not in use. But on bazzite-asus, it's enabled at all times and I can't seem to get it to power down. Looking with nvtop I don't see anything running on it, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

My amdgpu udev rule no longer works after rebasing to bazzite
I recently rebased to bazzite from fedora kinoite 39. Due to this issue (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/1500) I've had a udev rule for a while that applies the necessary fixes to mitigate it.
It's:
/etc/udev/rules.d/30-amdgpu.rules
KERNEL=="card1", SUBSYSTEM=="drm", DRIVERS=="amdgpu", ATTR{device/power_dpm_force_performance_level}="manual", ATTR{device/pp_power_profile_mode}="1"
Since rebasing to bazzite however, this fix is no longer applied on boot, and when I check the values in /sys they're just the default.
Does bazzite mitigate/fix/disallow this kind of rule? Is there a way to ensure that bug I mentioned doesn't happen (only occurs in certain games)8 replies
