Not-so-dad Dad Sneakers
Hey everyone! I’m a dad with two little kids, one is already very active and the other is on their way there. This means that when we go out, I’m standing or running around most of the time. I have quite a bit of sneakers but they’re mostly Jordans, vans, some retro sneakers and a couple of New Balances. The NB are my most comfortable sneakers but they’re chunky(er) and more casual. I’m looking for sneaker that’s a bit nicer that I can keep up with my kids and look “dressed” up in. For example, when we go out we go to our local brewery, a nice restaurant (for kids, I mean), or kids birthday parties. For the “nicer” outings I’d like to be able to wear a “nice” tshirt or a polo top. I also live in the south US where summers are really hot so shorts is a big part of my wardrobe. Currently looking at various ON running shoes, Nike Vomero 5 (which I think will have the same issue as the NB) or the Nike Lunar Roam, all in some shade of white. Does anyone have any inspiration outfits that meets this? I can’t find any pictures of these types of outfits or I’m using the wrong keywords in Google

Bonobos Jeans Alternative?
Bonobos has my best fit and sizing, Athletic 29x28. However their jeans felt like leggings when I got them. Is there a brand with a fit and sizing of bonobos but with better quality jeans? Preferred to stay within that price range as well.

Pants Measurements for Tailors
I need to add quite a few pants to my wardrobe this fall/winter. What parts of pants can be easily altered vs more difficult? For example, shortening is easy but taking in the waist is harder (and costlier). So where do pants need to fit right off the rack and what areas can be changed? Thigh? Rise? Taper? Etc.

WFH Pants
Just ordered a pair of Bonobos Off Duty Pants (https://bonobos.com/products/off-duty-pant?color=deep%20blue). Because of sizing I’m not sure if these will fit right. I really like the idea of having pants that aren’t jeans or sweatpants when I have to work from home and run errands. Is there something similar to these pants? I like the crop leg, jogger thing they have going on. Do these pants have a certain style name I can look for?

Measurements
If I have pants that fit me well, can I measure those and use those measurements when shopping? If I have pants that are long, can I fold the hem and measure the “new” inseam and use that measurement? Can I pin parts of the pant and take those measurements and use them? Is there a difference when measuring jeans vs chinos vs other types of pants? Can I do similar things with shirts? Seeing if I could save money/time from the tailor.

Brands for Jeans/Pants
Colder weather will be here soon and need to redo my pants wardrobe. I wear basic things, jeans, 5 pocket pants, and chinos mostly. Nothing crazy. Looking for my size/fit has always been difficult. I mostly wear 29/28 and tend to wear more of the “skinny” fit (tighter through thighs tapers to ankle) because of my stature, I tend to look taller in this fit. Bonobos has been the only brand that has what I would consider my best fit but looking to expand on things they may not have. My main complaint is some brands don’t carry anything below a 30 inseam or have “low rise” (thanks to this MFA I’ve come to learn how important rise is). Are there other brands that carry pants in these size and fits? Budget would probably be <$100
