would metal shaders even work? I thought that would need a rewrite of the rendering engine to be in metal too? Unless im mistaken

I wont make any promises, as I dont have an m-series to test, but you can search the discord. I've seen others with it working fine. The decision is yours though.

Ah, I guess shrimple doesnt work either then. I would wait for comp to get released then. That should work. Either that or wait for bliss and others to update, but that may be longer. Comp beta already works it just cost money behind patreon rn.

It depends on the shadders. Bliss doesnt work because it uses too many samplers. MacOS limits to 16. Bliss works without DH, but DH adds two more samplers and pushes it over the limit.
Some shaders like complementary (currently cost money for the beta version) and I guess shrimple dont have this problem. It depends how the shader is designed and whether it uses features MacOS doesn't support, or that Apple limits.
Basically anything above OpenGL 4.1 is no go, and too many samplers is a no go too.

Chunks that are far away are not loading
It could be a ram thing/cpu thing or perhaps distant chunks is turned off? Just an idea
