I'm a simple guy, I like repro jeans. Nice high rise, wider cut through the leg. Nice cropped type 1 denim jacket etc. Personally I feel that TCB are a great brand for this, they go to a lot of effort to reproduce old jeans and jackets, and they are very well priced for what they sell

TCB type 2 vs Sugarcane

I see the arm hole issue posted a lot online and think that it may be an older issue as Scott said and they have updated the patterns more recently

I have the TCB 20s jacket, which isn't the one you are looking at but I'm extremely pleased with it. No issues with arm holes on it whatsoever. I'd go as far as saying it's the perfect cut denim jacket for me. I have their storm rider as well and also no issue with arm holes

Is this coat too formal looking?

if you have more formal stuff under it it'll look more formal, if you're pretty casual, say jeans, sneakers, hoodie as an exmaple, it'll look more casual

a good place to start is to do what art suggested, have a look in waywt and see if there is something you like and think you would like to wear
