RTW Suit Advice

Agree with others that you should try the R cut, this looks a little short. I think the fit is basically okay on both for the jacket, but Spier's slim trousers are pretty slim, so I think the contemporary is the overall better choice.

It's just a very formal color. Obviously the tweed would make it much more casual but it seems like a bit of a risk to me?

I'd probably not get a sport coat that's charcoal, that's a pretty tough color to wear as an odd jacket

It has a bit of a long vibe because of how much it goes down past your hands, but as @GSH pointed out the overall look comes together. Tbh I like it, it's got a lot of character. The lapels are cool too

Yeah agree, looking through his collections I had forgotten how many pieces were more normie. Obviously the ones that stick out in my mind are the ones that have a little more vibe though 🙂

I just think a lot of the sort of oversized look, e.g. his classic Big Shirt with the huge pockets is really part of a vibe and it can be hard to just slip it into your wardrobe

I also feel like the best EK pieces are not that versatile, like you've really gotta go full EK to get the most out of them, so the barrier to entry is high

You could check out All Saints in that price range. Can't comment on quality but I've heard they're okay at the price. Second hand Schott, as suggested, also good.
