aaah cave culling , makes sense , it fixes it, but even set to 0 , the highest platforms still have the weird issue. not sure if it is bug worthy? bug could be: incompatibility with floating islands i guess

"Show Generation Progress" Doesn't Show Generation Progress In Chat Or Overlay
I concur, the same issue happens to me, 1.21.1 latest stable release only works when set to log, and it works overlaid on the latest nightly.
