For someone living in a tropical climate, damn do I focus too much on purchasing outerwear. Luckily, I do need jackets/sweaters for the strong office AC in my workplace. But 2 years ago, my bias towards outerwear would be hard to justify, seeing as I would only be wearing them on public transport or in university classe

Gave a quick browse. Looks like aloha shirts in mostly Tencel with linen, or 100% linen. I'd say this would be great for a beach holiday, but I'll advise against making it the bulk of your hot weather travel wardrobe

Depends on the specific hot climate too. I'm most familiar with a tropical equatorial climate, so I'll answer from that perspective. Cotton isnt the best but it does cool you down in hot and humid conditions. Synthetic airism stuff wash and dry easier but usually look uglier style-wise (I have no experience with this) Layering is possible when it's hot but when you're travelling, fewer layers are more convenient. Invest in hand-held fan and a water bottle to help cool you down. And a cap for shade doesn't hurt

Muji

I like Muji's stuff. It's still fast fashion but quality is great for its price. I've gotten a cardigan, a linen shirt and a t-shirt with a placket. All look great and are still quite comfortable after years of wear

What is the typical etiquette for a trunk show?

Thanks for the detailed response! The trunk show will be showing some RTW stuff from Brycelands' summercore collection (though they also mention MTO is available). I'll send the hosting store a whatsapp message that I'll walk in to browse and know more about Brycelands. Might purchase 1 of their RTW summercore stuff but I won't pressure myself to leave with a purchase if it doesn't work out.
