Gamescope HDR regression bug in latest Bazzite

After updating to 41.20241112.1 HDR no longer engages on boot in gamemode or in desktop mode. I must disable and re-enable HDR to get it to engage. Rolling back to 41.20241104 fixes the issue

Laptop recommendations for Bazzite

anyone use a laptop for bazzite that they can recommend me? i am looking for something as powerful as the steam deck, preferably with more than 32GB of RAM. AMD graphics preferred so i do not have issues with gamemode. I am aware that there are framework, asus, and surface specific images, but I am insure what models work the best. I was looking at lenovo laptops, but I am unsure which ones would give me the same smooth + issue-free experience as my Ryzen-based desktop I wanted to keep this as a separate thread in case someone else starts browsing around for recommendations, it would be easier to find rather than scrolling through 1000+ bazzite channel messages.

Is it possible to bring back restore-original-terminal?

Washed out colors

On the bazzite-deck image, looks like on desktop mode colors are now washed out. Gamemode is fine, and since bazzite-deck is designed to be mainly used in gamemode it is not that big of a deal. I'm worried this issue may go over into desktop mode though. HDR on or off in kwin, it makes no difference. I upgraded due to the color bug in the previous image, but now it seems there's a new issue. I looked through the mesa gitlab issues and could not find anything relating to this. I am also not sure why this is affecting bazzite-deck, but not regular bazzite. Anyway posting here in case anyone runs into the same thing

intermittent freezing during shutdown

Suddenly out of the blue i am suffering from issues on shutdown. From what I can tell its random. What logs can I post to help troubleshoot? This issue is occurring on bazzite desktop

/usr/bin/ld despite binutils being being installed

So I got an error when trying to install lazyvim, saying ld can't be found. I went to check where i would expect it to be:

$ ls -la /usr/bin/ld
ls: cannot access '/usr/bin/ld': No such file or directory

$ ls -la /usr/bin/ld
ls: cannot access '/usr/bin/ld': No such file or directory

tried installing it and was met with the message that:

$ rpm-ostree install binutils
error: "binutils" is already provided by: binutils-2.40-14.fc39.x86_64. Use --allow-inactive to explicitly require it.

$ rpm-ostree install binutils
error: "binutils" is already provided by: binutils-2.40-14.fc39.x86_64. Use --allow-inactive to explicitly require it.

I checked what this rpm would have installed and sure enough ld should've been under /usr/bin

$ rpm -ql binutils-2.40-14.fc39.x86_64 | grep /usr/bin/ld
/usr/bin/ld
/usr/bin/ld.bfd

$ rpm -ql binutils-2.40-14.fc39.x86_64 | grep /usr/bin/ld
/usr/bin/ld
/usr/bin/ld.bfd

any idea how i can fix this?

Bazzite reboots unexpectedly

bazzite-deck on htpc unexpectedly reboots itself when the display is turned off. This is installed on a minisforum HX99G, and had similar experience when i had it installed on an intel NUC as well. I suspect this is tied to steam deck rebooting when the display is disconnected in handheld mode. When it reboots it seems to only quit the current game thats playing and restart gamemode, it doesnt actually reboot the entire OS as im not prompted to enter luks passphrase, and i never see the BIOS screen logo flash either. Any logs i can help provide?
