Hardware Selection
Hello! I'm new to all this so I appreciate your patience. Context About a year ago, we started a private Minecraft server using Oracle Cloud. We used the Ampere 3.0GHz shape, with 4 OCPUs and 24GB of memory. Unfortunately we lost the server recently and can't get one back due to lack of availability. We've decided to self-host instead, it was already something I wanted to do for a while and I already run a light home server for media purposes. What I use right now is not powerful enough though and I need to upgrade. Here are some more details: - 1 server only, shared with just friends - Fabric, with performance mods only to keep it vanilla - We do plan on using BlueMap or an equivalent, not sure if it has implications - Around 2-4 concurrent players on the average day - Up to 10 concurrent players during events - Hardware is planned to host other services (docker), but those are pretty light and for personal use only so no bandwidth issues there What hardware? I keep seeing that Minecraft is single thread heavy. I've been checking the "Single Thread Rating" on https://www.cpubenchmark.net, is that a good way to look at it? Then I heard that the core clock speed has to be around 3GHz. Would this apply to my situation? As for RAM, I'm not really sure how to determine how much I need. I've heard that I should prioritise CPU and then think about RAM after, is that correct? I do know that right now that my current dockers use around 2-3GB of RAM. Finally there's the budget aspect. I can only afford cheap-ish options. Ebay seems to have some great deals, especially on the Intel NUC mini-pcs. They're small and they don't seem to consume too much power, they seem ideal. But would they work for my situation? For example, here's one. This looks good to me, but what do you think? - i5-8259U 8GB 256GB M.2 | Around 117€

Storage Widget
I've been looking around, I can't seem to find a storage widget anywhere. It would be really useful to know how much storage I have on my machine at a glance. Is that a thing?
