so it seems like going into AE/Alden in person and getting sized, and then searching those on eBay is probably my best course of action

For loafers specifically, I don't know as I haven't owned a pair in a while. I know one recommendation I've seen is to go into an Alden store (which there is one in NYC) and get measured so I plan on doing that.

Athletic/slimmer fitting t shirts
I thought about this but I don’t love the feeling of the shirts and also felt that while it may be less boxy if I sized down, it would still be a boxy fit just more correct for my size
