What goes in a good listing?
I want to sell some shoes (still in the box). What should I do, when selling something, that will catch a buyer's eye?
What tips are there for creating an attractive title/description, or for taking photos? Tips that wouldn't be obvious to a first-time seller.
These are things I've never really thought about, and I wouldn't know where to start.
The advice should be platform-agnostic: whether eBay or FB or Poshmark or Depop or anywhere else

[Vancouver, 🇨🇦] Need to quickly sell Columbia Bugaboot 3s--options?
Men's 11, bought from Sporting Life Brentwood and worn only a handful of times (plus I kept the box). Not eligible for a return because I used them in snow. Where are the popular places to sell men's outdoor/winter clothing in BC/AB*? Some ideas that come to mind are:
* Marketplace
* Local BST FB threads (ideally specializing in outdoor/winter gear. Zero clue which groups are popular in BC)
* Poshmark (20% cut is steep so I'd rather not go this route)
* /r/FrugalMaleFashionCAD monthly BST threads (they don't get much love, though)
Pricing
I paid $102.04 CAD (not USD)
What would be a good compromise used price? I was thinking somewhere in the $80-90 range

Laundry instructions for winter clothing: which can be ignored?
Recently, I bought the following:
-Uniqlo Heattech Super Warm Base Layer
-Uniqlo Fleece Full Zip-Up Mid Layer
-Muji Lustrous Wool Mix Thin Socks
The wash instructions for all three of these items are quite finicky. I'll start with the socks.
* Hand wash cold, line dry in shade
* Use neutral detergent
* Wash separately
Base layer and mid-layer:
* Max 40°C, mild process (what does "mild process" even mean?)
* Do not tumble dry
* Line dry in the shade
* Do not iron
* Do not dry clean
* Wash dark colours separately
* No optical brighteners
* Do not soak
* Use cleaning net
Mid-layer also says "reshape while damp" in lieu of "line dry in the shade".
For the first wash, which of these instructions can be safely ignored, and which should absolutely be followed? Are Shout Colour Catchers recommended to prevent colour bleeding? And what counts as "dark colours", anyway?
Also, I've never hand-washed socks in my life. How do I know how much detergent to use? How much water to use? Can I add washing soda to boost the detergent power? How long do I scrub for? I really regret not taking Home Ec in school...

What are the essentials for winter clothing? (Tops/bottoms)
I'm in Vancouver so I don't need much, just recommendations for tops/bottoms/jackets(/long johns?) for those rare chilly and snowy days, like today.
* Budget: I'd like to spend under $250 CAD for everything if possible, I understand that may be a tall ask (new North Face jackets are running $300+).
* Whether you would prefer to buy in person or if online is fine: Either is fine
* Timescales: Pretty fuckin' urgent. The temps caught me off guard this morning.
* Whether you're happy to buy second hand: Yes
* Specific body measurements beyond your height and weight: Men's large in most clothing, not sure if there are any pieces for which you size up/down (like how AF1s fit a half-size down)
Thanks.

Looking for new walking shoes, waterproof socks and sturdy winter shoes.
I'm in the market for several pieces of footwear.
New, ideally breathable, walking shoes: I've had a pair of Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38s since 2020. I bought them because I worked at an Amazon warehouse and thus was on my feet for 9 1/2 hours, I needed cushioning. Well, the Pegasus cushioning effect has long since worn out. These won't be for jogging, I know I have to get a foot scan at a speciality running store for that.
Waterproof socks and waterproof shoe covers that don't cost a damn fortune: looking at you, Bridgedale StormSocks. $65 for one pair? What, will the socks do my taxes too?
A sturdy men's winter shoe for days with snowy/icy sidewalks. I assume the waterproof socks above can also be used with them, to keep my feet warm. I've never tried on a winter shoe before, is it better to first go to Sporting Life or something and try a few pairs, see how I like them? What are the common beginner's winter shoes for when people don't shovel their damn sidewalks?
* A specific budget in numbers: $100-125 CAD for the walking shoes, ideally less. I am not familiar with the market for everything else. If I can get several pairs of waterproof socks + waterproof shoe covers for $50 CAD, that would be ideal (can go higher if necessary). Sturdy winter shoes, I assume I won't be getting anything for under $250-300 CAD, even used. Good quality shit costs money, after all.
* Your vague location: Vancouver, Canada
* Whether you would prefer to buy in person or if online is fine: Either is fine
* Timescales: The highest urgency is with waterproof socks and shoe covers. I want to be prepared before the next atmospheric river event. Everything else: if I can get them within 2-3 weeks, that would be great.
* Whether you're happy to buy second hand: Yes
* Specific body measurements beyond your height and weight: Men's US 10 (10 1/2 in composite-toe shoes). Can go down to 9 1/2 in AF1s (mids/highs) with a long shoehorn and a lot of squeezing.
Thanks.
