Sizing advice for Ugg Adirondacks
Yesterday I went to the Browns Shoes in Metrotown (U.S. equivalent would probably be the shoe departments at a Saks, Bloomingdale's or Barneys) and tried on a pair of Ugg Tall Adirondacks III in ladies' size 12. They were very tight up front and were tough to take off. I'm guessing the thicker fleece lining of the Adirondacks results in a tighter fit. Do the boots stretch out with use, or would I need to size up to a ladies' 13? (To my knowledge, only the short Adirondacks are available in a 13.)
* Budget: $350 CAD
* Location: BC, Canada but can pick up items shipped to the U.S. at Point Roberts, WA
* Can buy in person or online
* Timescales: I can wait for a good deal
* Secondhand is fine
* Measurements: US men's 10 for most shoes, 10 1/2 for shoes that need more clearance up front (like my pair of composite-toe shoes). Ladies' 11 for classic Uggs.

If they were hard to take off I’d size up
I don’t size up with Uggs because they stretch out, but I don’t have problems taking off brand new Uggs
So if you're a men's 10 you'd buy a ladies' 10 to account for stretch outs?
Sorry aren’t women’s sizes two sizes smaller than men’s? So if I were a men’s ten I’d typically go for a women’s 12 - but in your case since you had trouble even putting the shoe on/taking it off, I would size up
Which is a problem because the style doesn’t come in 13 right? And you checked online stock?
I've tried new classics in women's 11 and they're a bit slouchy around the shaft. The shearling compacts with time so you actually size down to compensate. So men's 10 = women's 11, not 12 (at least, that's my understanding, may be wrong). Both short and tall pairs of the Addies are only available up to size 12.
Addies don't have the same slouchy outer material because they're designed to be waterproof.
Hasn’t been my experience - I wear a lot of Uggs and I’ve never sized down with the classics. But if it works for you then go for it
How can you tell if the fit is right?
Snug without being too tight. If it feels like my toes are being pushed together a lot (can’t wiggle comfortably) then it’s too tight
That's what I was thinking. When I tried the size 12 Addies, I could wiggle my toes somewhat but felt more resistance. Either I'm actually a men's 11 or the sturdy, waterproof exterior results in a tighter fit.
Although the Nike Zoom Pegasus 38s I have are a men's 10, and I can wiggle my toes just fine in them. Maybe because they stretched out? (I bought them in 2020)
Nike runs small for me. I’m between sizes and I go up half a size for Nike - so it’s interesting you have the opposite experience
