looking for a plugin where you can place inanimate player models
I joined the server where when when you walked in so you can see the admin standing there as if you were in game. But it's just a clone of his characters skin and name. What is the plug-in used to do this?

Is it possible to have DynMap data stored outside of the plugins/server folder?
I'm trying to figure out a way to backup all my server data daily, but not backup the DynMap data (since it's so large). If I were able to have the plugin direct it's data to a folder outside the server, I could achieve this, but I don't know if it's possible. Any ideas?

Looking for critiques or suggestions for a dedicated Minecraft Server I am building.
My budget is $1000 and after a bit of research this is what I came up with after deciding on the Ryzen 7 5800X3D for our CPU. Looking forward to hearing any thoughts or suggestions ❤️

Server HW: Would better single thread processing and faster RAM allow further chunk render distance?
While building a server I'm deciding between a Ryzen 7 5800X or a 7 7700X, and if the price difference would be worth it. Going with the 7700 would also allow for increased RAM speeds but I'm not sure how much that would improve performance. Here's the two processors benchmarks compared: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/5036vs3869/AMD-Ryzen-7-7700X-vs-AMD-Ryzen-7-5800X
My main goal is to push our servers render distance as far as possible but someone else I heard from said upgrading to the 7700 wouldn't make a difference.
Thoughts?

Building a dedicated server
I've hosted remotely through a 3rd party for a number of years for my Minecraft community and I'm ready to build a dedicated machine and host locally.
A little more information to help discern our needs: We host a primarily vanilla server on Paper with minimal plugins. During our most active periods of time we have ~20 players online. I also plan to host a creative server (to practice redstone online and share ideas with players), a legacy server (to view old maps), and the occasional temporary map for anarchy hardcore games. These other worlds won't be used nearly as much as our main survival SMP but it's something I want to keep in consideration.
One of my main goals in building this server is to be able to increase the render view distance as far as possible on our SMP world. I've got a budget of ~$800, but while talking with some of my users it sounds like a ~$600 machine might be nearly as effective. I'm essentially debating between a
Ryzen 7 7700x with DDR5-5600 RAM
vs Ryzen 7 5800X with DDR4-3600 RAM
. I'm also open to increasing the RAM on both builds. What do you think about these builds side by side, and would it make any significant difference for our needs, or help to increase render distance?

Internet crashes while hosting a server locally (with lots of block changes)
Hello, I've hosted a server for years through a hosting service and have been looking in to building a dedicated machine to run in my home. I've been running tests on my PC before doing so and have run in to a problem I can't find a straight answer to.
I can get the server up and running, as well has having players connect without issue. However, after I try to stress test the network by either generate a lot of chunks, or lighting a bunch of TNT, the internet on my machine stops working. When it happens, it's like my upload speed stops first. Other devices in the home connected to the same router via ethernet and wifi have no issues. While watching the network portion of my Task Manager, "Send" immediately goes to 0kbps while "receive" continues to have indicate data is transmitting. While in Discord voice chat I can hear players who were on the server say "it crashed" but they can't hear anything I'm saying. After a moment the entire internet connection on my PC stops working all together. Someone mentioned it could be a bandwidth problem, but I'm not sure how I'd investigate that. The plan with my ISP allows for 20mbps up, so as far as I know that should be enough.
The only way to get my internet working again is to restart my entire PC. Does this sound like it could be a problem with my network/ISP, or perhaps just my modem? Or could there be some setting I'm overlooking in the server config files?
