Are solovairs actually better than doc martens?
I think Solovair are pretty much equivalent to the 'premium' priced Doc Martens

Are solovairs actually better than doc martens?
ime of owning both: the soles, stitching and construction are virtually indistinguishable.
However Solovair tend to on average use a nicer leather. I've had docs that are similar leather to my solovairs, but a lot of docs now are that coated & bonded corrected leather with a shiny coating that doesn't age well

But yeah like Chopper says, the best way to get better at anything is practice, so if you're happy taking it on as a paid "crash-course" then go ahead, it could be a cool job experience

Seems maybe overkill if your main intention is to learn how to alter your own clothes - you could learn that with a few YouTube tutorials
But if you're interested in getting hands on with the more industrial side and don't mind working weekends on top of a regular job then sounds cool?
