does anyone know why jeans do this in the thigh?
It’s that the back rise is too long for the waist - you can see this bc if you pull the back of the waistband up, the effect vanishes. That said, it will soften and is only noticeable if you look at a person who is standing still, it’s not noticeable when actually moving/ wearing the clothes

Heavy Duty Knit - to hang or fold?
I would definitely fold. It looks heavy AF, which means more deformation from hanging

In return you don’t have to look like a marshmallow in winter so that’s nice

black cocktail attire?
to me, cocktail attire is suit but no tie territory. It's a pretty odd dress code. I would probably wear white shirt, black/ dark grey jacket (either suit or not), pants, and shoes

Thought on rubber Chelsea boots ?
Embrace that clothes change as you wear them! Otherwise you actually can't wear anything

Thought on rubber Chelsea boots ?
These are going to feel awful. The reason people use leather and canvas is that they breathe. You're trapping all your foot swear in these and you'll hate it

Change my Style?
I really think it’s worth trying things on in person at a store before buying online to get a sense of how things fit, and have something to measure against

Most of this looks like skinny jeans plus tee plus sneakers - might be worth going to a local Uniqlo and trying on some jeans, tees, and maybe cargos and seeing if anything clicks.

And that a “sticky” pad helps a lot because its movement that is a problem, not just the existence of straps

Backpack + Suede leather jacket = disaster?
My experience is that tightly woven fabrics are better in general vs fabrics with big air gaps for padding

I find that the most rubbing will happen on the shoulders - it'll look a bit odd, especially if you have a heavy pack with abrasive material at the shoulders
