Lead Screw Screeching (Vcore4 IDEX)

Has anybody run into an issue where the Z1 lead screw (the rear one) has some random screeching/squeaking. It happens sometimes, especially on fast Z moves (like during z tilt calibration). I am able to isolate it to that lead screw because if I put my hand on it and give it a little pull towards the front of the machine while it is screeching, the sound goes away. I put some light sewing machine oil on the lead screw which seemed to fix the issue, but I was under the impression that the POM lead screw nut shouldnt need lubrication. Also after a few days the sound seems to have returned...

in my experience, anything that moves needs some type of lubrication

You'll read and hear plenty that POM is self lubricating, but that's not really true for anything that moves at a decent speed or under decent load POM is only called "self-lubricating" because it has a low coeffecient of frction, so it's not truly "self-lubricating" (now you can get POM parts with lubricants impregnated into the piece itself that are truly self lubricating, but that is not what we have on RatRigs)

Got it thanks. I guess I just had a unrealistic expectation based on my two front Z lead screws. Those are unlubricated and perfectly quiet. I will lubricate all three axes then.

I have this same issue, I lube it and it solves it. Usually only hear it during z tilt adjust. Did you solve it?

Ya I just put more sewing machine oil on it and let it run. So far... its acceptable.

I did the same. Took the noise away. Thank you.
