cannot connect to pi ip.
after no success with 2 weeks of attempted calibration and vaoc led stopped working i thought id start again. Flash sd card. Now not connecting via ethernet ip. Can only connect to pi via ratos.local network. Thus no internet and no updates and no config. Tried 3 x diff sd cards. Put old install sd card back in and works. Tried diff raspi still no go. WTF is wrong with this stupid thing? :need: Cheers.

You are right man. I was talkng one thing and thinking another. Very embarrassed. Thats the one i originally installed. Its in my download folder somewhere. (new download has a 2 in it. lol). I searched and searched and could only find 2.02. That will be the problem. Thanks Blacky and ctbjdm_04135. Legends.

how are you flashing the new SD card?
Did you setup a static IP address or something else with your network? Ethernet should always work
flashing with pi imager. STD network, main router 192.168.50.1. Raspi ip 192.168.50.193. Connects fine with old install sd card. Newly flashed cards not connecting. Tried different raspi, 192.168.50.92 same. Can connect via "ratos.local" network. It should work yes because the old install connects so network is fine. Rebooted routers, checked all settings, tried diff pc, as you do. Got me stumped Blacky.
well, 192.168.50.1 is the wifi network that ratos creates not the standard network, which is usually 192.168.0.1
ethernet is plugged into wireless acces point. Works with origional install, same ip. Also works using ratos.local.
can see it but wont connect
what does "won't connect" mean? Are you getting an error?
i noticed that but no errors.
can see ethernet *92 and wifi *110
so... what is it doing?
just times out
so it provides a message saying it timed out?
make a video of the issue please
when you connect via ratos.local, go to the machine tab. that should tell you what your LAN ip address is. I wonder if it actually isn't 192.168.50.92
all seems legit
are you using http or https when trying to connect to 192.168.50.92?
i just type in the ip. Have tried http in front but no diff
yes mate. same thing ay.
i think ive tried nearly everything i can think of. Especially as it connects when i put the old sd card back in.
that's why I think it is some networking setting that got changed and maybe you don't remember
its a freshly flashed card without any changes. Tried 3 x different sd cards. All new 32gb sandisk ultra. Same settings old install works. If my network was wrong the old install wouldn't work hey?
i even downloaded the image again
ohh so the "old install" is just an old ratos image?
yeh
what is the image name?
and what's the image name of the "new" install?
just the standard name "bootfs"
sorry, the image i downloaded was
2023-06-09-RatOS-2.0.2-raspberry-rpi32.img.xz
same as the original, then updates to rc3 if it can connect
no, you can't upgrade from 2.0 to 2.1
thats how i did original. Its the only way you can do it. RC2 or RC3 is not available as an image, that i could find.
@miklschmidt where do you get ratos 2.1-rc3 image these days?
but yeah, that's your problem, you need the correct image. There is no upgrade path as there are too many changes
but i havent got to the upgade part yet?
the old install is upgraded and wifi/ethernet works. ?
bottom line, you can't use the upgrade button to go from ratos 2.0 to 2.1
ok
